We are thrilled to be partnering with KVNO, Film Streams, The House of Afros, Capes & Curls, and Alliance Francaise for this exciting event that celebrates the life of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges.

 

Chevalier  tells a reimagining of the fantastic life of the famed 18th-century swordsman, violinist, composer, boxer, and activist Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges who was born enslaved and rose to fame in the late 1700s in France.

Our event will include live music that showcases the work of Joseph Bologne, a screening of the film directed by Stephen Williams, and will be followed by a panel discussion featuring experts on music, history, and social justice sharing their insights on the film and its relevance to today's society.
